Compacting Patent Plaques

Somewhat bittersweet: am today compacting and throwing out my patent plaques. Circa 60-70 of them - eventually I started asking Intel *NOT* to give me any more plaques. They just take up too much space, are a pain to move. Need the bookshelf space.

At the moment I am unscrewing the metal engraving. I'll keep the metal with the actual patent engraved on it. Maybe one day I will actually mount them. But I am going to throw out, discard, recycle, the wooden boards. I wonder if my daughter's school woodshop would want them.

Maybe I'll use the metal for something. Melt it down.

Like beating swords into ploughshares?

  1. Good for you!
I only have 1/5 as many as you and have moved them too many times to recall. I keep thinking there should be some way to make them into furniture or wall panelling or something.
